The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has two manufacturing facilities - one in Washington, DC and the second in Fort Worth, Texas. The BEP manufactures US currency notes.

The Western Currency Facility (WCF) located in Fort Worth, Texas has a requirement for currency strap/bundle bands. The current contract solicitation has been issued and closed on August 1, 2011 at 2PM EST - the responses are under technical evaluation. The previous supply contract for this material has expired. However the production demand from the Federal Reserve has not ceased. As such the BEP will make a sole source award to Business Ink of Fort Worth, Texas for the following:

(1) Item No. 1L001817 $5 money bands 25,000 sheets
(2) Item No. 1L001892 $50 money bands 80,000 sheets

This is a onetime purchase intended to bridge the gap between contracts.

The BEP anticipates awarding a FAR part 12 purchase order.
