Bids will be received by the Jenkins County Board of Education (Owner)in the Board of Education Office, located at 1152 E. Winthrope Avenue, Millen, GA. 30442. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Jenkins County Board of Education Office, on July 18, 2023 at 2:00p.m. LOCAL TIME. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on June 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. LOCAL TIME at the Jenkins County Board of Education. The Pre-bid Conference is mandatory in order to submit a bid. Prospective Bidders not attending the Pre-Bid Conference will not be allowed to submit bids on the project. Bidding documents may be obtained electronically through the office of the architect, James W. Contract, if awarded, will be on lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been called on the date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond and in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Both performance bond and a payment bond will be required in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities and to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner.
