The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Ethicon US, LLC. dba Advanced Sterilization Products for a base year plus four (4) option years. This order will be to provide Repair and Preventative Maintenance for one Sterrad Sterilizer located at the Veteran Affairs Health Care Center in Fayetteville, NC. Ethicon US, LLC has been determined to be the only responsible source which can provide these services for Full Repair and Preventative Maintenance service of the Sterrad Sterilizer. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all expressions of interest received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice, and should provide sufficient data for the government to determine them as a comparable alternative to the intended source. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 13.106-1 (b).
