The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15 intends to negotiate a commercial sole source contract with Varian Systems, 3120 Hansen Way, M/S D300, Palo Alto, California 94304 under the authority FAR 6.302-1 and pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to obtain service and maintenance for the Varian NMR equipment located at the Columbia VA Medical Center, 800 Hospital Drive, Columbia, Missouri 65201. The base period of service will be from February 1, 2008 through January 1, 2009 and up to four (4) Option Years after the base period. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposal based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
