The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Varian Medical Systems to provide complete preventive maintenance and repair services for the Varian Linear Accelerators at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham North Carolina. Varian Medical Systems is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of this equipment and has proprietary information. Contractor shall provide a complete preventative maintenance and repair service for the radiation therapy equipment listed below: " Clinac LE Serial Number: H181069 " MLC 80/120 Serial Number: H544181 " Treat Serial Number: H513273 " PV 1000 Serial Number: H811262 " RPM Serial Number: H505920 Contractor shall perform all mandatory upgrade coverage, firmware and console software upgrades, comprehensive parts coverage, on-site field service support for covered equipment Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and extended hours (5:00 p.m. to 9: p.m.) EST., on-site emergency field services support. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) soliciting from a single source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.
