The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC FORWARD (WMEC 911), 270 FOOT ?B? CLASS MEDIUM ENDURANCE CUTTER. This solicitation is restricted to small businesses only. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, RFQ. The solicitation and specification will be issued on or about December 11, 2006. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
