The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside repairs to the USCGC DAUNTLESS (WMEC-624), 210 FOOT ?B? CLASS MEDIUM ENDURANCE CUTTER.The repairs shall be performed at the vessel?s home pier: 1 Ferry Road Galveston, TX 77553-1942. The performance period is 14 calendar days and is expected to begin on or about March 17, 2008 thru March 31, 2008.
This solicitation is restricted to small businesses. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value RFQ on or about February 19, 2008. This Requirement will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. The scope of the acquisition is to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dock side repairs to the USCGC DAUNTLESS (WMEC-624). This work is such as, but not limited to: Renew #1 and #2 Ship Service Boiler Shells.
A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
