The U. S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 intends to award on a sole source contract to Thermo Electon, 1400 Northpoint Pkwy, Ste 50, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1976 a comprehensive annual maintenance agreement (base plus 2 option years) for the Nicolet 8700 FTIR spectrometer and related items manufactured by Thermo Electron North America under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisitions Procedures (SAP) as only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As the manufacture, Thermo Electron is the only authorized repair facility with trained/certified technicians, having access to OEM repair parts, updates, software releases and propriety technical information.
