Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue an order to the Joint Venture (JV) of ITT Industries/Northrop Grumman to provide software support services for the AN/ALQ-165 (V) ASPJ system equipment. The original ASPJ software system is VAX based; however, JV has also developed a PC based software system. JV will provide engineering and technical support to modify the existing USN ASPJ software tools to become PC based and operable in a Windows 2000 environment. The efforts will include software development, documentation, testing and training. JV is the only known vendor who can provide these software tools in a timely manner to support F/A-18 E/F FY 03 deployments because it is the designer, developer and sole producer of the AN/ALQ-165 (V) ASPJ system, and the only firm possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling and special test equipment necessary to produce and modify them.
