The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network 22 Logistics Office, Long Beach, CA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. on behalf of the VA San Diego Healthcare System. The proposed procurement is to provide labor and parts to maintain Government owned Siemens Magnetom Verio and Biograph TruePoint 40 systems. These systems contain proprietary parts and software, including data links for remote diagnostics. This procurement is being made under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which apply when supplies or services required by an agency are available from one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
