The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to issue sole source award to MDS Nordion, for Repair, maintenance, and Reload of Gammacell 220 Irradiator, which must be repaired immediately, and the purchase of a Cobalt 60 Source. The award is in the amount of $85,720.00. This award also includes packing, shipping, and handling of Gammacell 220 equipment from Atlanta to Ottawa, Canada and return. Vendor must install Cobalt 60 Source and train CDC personnel. MDS Nordion is the only source known to perform the maintenance and repair of the equipment on the Gammacell 220 Irradiator and the Cobalt 60 Source.
