This procurement requires the contractor to ensure that the TRIDENT guidance systems are sustained through their product life cycle. The contractor shall perform detailed analysis of all factory and fleet performance data and lead the development of alternative technologies to mitigate product obsolescence. The contractor shall provide program management, administration, engineering, contracting, configuration, and process control for the maintenance and repair of the MK6 guidance system to insure that it meets all system performance objectives; including cost, electrical and mechanical interface control intended for high accuracy instrumentation applications. The contract will be awarded to Charles Stark Draper Laboratories (CSDL), Inc., Cambridge, MA. CSDL possesses the unique knowledge and the facilities needed to manage the capability of EA, IMU, and PIGA repair. No source other than CSDL has the technical capacity, facilities, and critical expertise, including comprehensive knowledge and understanding of design, to provide the engineering, program management, and repair and refurbishment support of deployed TRIDENT II MK6 missile guidance systems. This procurement will include a base period of performance from01 October 2007 through 30 September 2008, plus 2 one-year option periods.
