The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) - Vicksburg, MS intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Malvern Instruments Incorporated for maintenance and repair to the Malvern Zetasizer Nano-ZS. The manufacturer owns all applicable and pending patents and the design of the Malvern Zetasizer Nano-ZS system. They control the manufacture and distribution rights to the instrumentation, thus they are the only vendor that can perform these services. The maintenance shall include preventive maintenance; service and repair for any system malfunction; and routine maintenance and repair/replacement of existing components and parts to sustain daily operations. The service provider must be trained and certified in servicing Malvern Zetasizer Nano-ZS equipment. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code that this work falls under is 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $19.0M. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this product must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide this product as outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within six (6) calendar days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable products are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining this product through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
