NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in Research Triangle Park, NC, intends to award a sole source Purchase Order under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Illumina, Inc. to procure a one (1) year service maintenance agreement for use with an Illumina NextSeq500 instrument. The National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL) currently utilizes a NextSeq500 instrument. Illumina, Inc. is the only manufacturer of these specific instrument and has exclusive rights to the software, hardware, and operating licenses for this equipment. The service maintenance agreement from Illumina is required to maintain proper functioning of the instrument. The Product Care NextSeq 500 Comprehensive Plan includes: Full coverage for parts, labor and travel Reagent replacement upon Hardware failures 1 PM Remote Technical Support 3 business day average on-site response Hardware/Software updates On-site applications support The circumstance permitting is FAR 13.106-1(b) "Soliciting from a single source". All interested parties who believe they can provide the required services should fully explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within seven (7) calendar days from the date of this announcement and provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation is available. Consequently, anyone failing to provide the aforementioned and instead chooses to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the statement of work or more information about the project will be ignored.
