The purpose of this SPECIAL NOTICE is to announcement the intent to modify a sole source award with additional, in scope preventative maintenance services. The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) located at 3601 S 6th Ave, Tucson AZ 85723 is intending to modify an existing, five year contract with Beckman Coulter, providing services to Albuquerque VA with the same services for the Phoenix VA facility. The work being sought is a qualified contractor to provide Annual Preventative Maintenance to support Phoenix VA owned/installed Beckman Coulter Analyzer equipment as listed below. Any prospective contractors must be authorized/certified to provide the required service from the manufacturer and must show proof with any provided documents at the time of responding to this SPECIAL NOTICE announcement. Previous contract was awarded under FAR Part 6.302-1 Only one known source (see attached) and market research has determined that no other contractors can provide the needed services. The VA is mandated by Public Law 109-461 to consider a total set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set aside. However, if response by Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms proves inadequate, an alternate set-aside or full and open competition may be determined.
