Notice Type: Sources Sought
Synopsis:
The Army Contracting Command- Rock Island (ACC-RI) and the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) is looking for interested vendors who offer for sale and/or manufacture Item Unique Identification (IUID) Equipment as specified in the Rock Island Purchase Description (RIPD). Vendors shall have experience in manufacturing, supplying, and/or offering for sale in the regular course of business IUID Equipment. The RIPD and specification will be identified in the solicitation.
General Requirements:
The resulting contract will be a firm fixed price contract and will contain an option.
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify sources capable of providing a variety of labeling and marking equipment to uniquely mark/track Army's recordable assets. The Army requires a 2-D Matrix bar code assignment to all products meeting a specific criteria.
As RIA-JMTC is a highly integrated manufacturing facility, we are seeking multiple methods of marking our products with unique identifiers in 2-D Matrix format that cannot be removed or susceptible to wear or damage.
The expectation is that RIA-JMTC will need equipment with the following capabilities:
1) Fiber & CO2 Laser Marking
2) Thermal, Inkjet, CTP, Lithographic Exposure printers
3) Peeners
4) Other Methods (i.e. digital chemical etching, CNC stencil cutters, Silk Screening)
RIA-JMTC is looking the following types of IUID Equipment; specifications and quantities will be released with the solicitation:

If the application of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data is necessary, that equipment will be need to be identified. Additionally, acceptable sources will be required to meet Army Gold Master (AGM) specifications for computers and acquire a
Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) for software products. Products that are connecting to Army network require sufficient Cyber controls to assure no vulnerabilities are presented.
The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) is 332812- Metal Coating, Engraving (except Jewelry and Silverware), and Allied Services to Manufactures. Firms that recognize and can provide the required items described above are encouraged to identify themselves. Vendors are requested to provide the following when responding: Company Name, Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, POC with email and phone number, business size (large or small in regards to NAICS listed above), and a brief summary of capabilities (to include pamphlets, capabilities statement, etc) that meet/match our requirements as described above.
