iSupport is an approved, CDC level Ill commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software solution used by NCHHSTP and other organizations within the Agency as both a service desk ticketing platform and configurable administrative management tool. iSupport has been formally reviewed, evaluated, and approved by the NCHHSTP Information Systems Security Officer, CDC Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) and the CDC 508 Accessibility and Compliance Office. NCHHSTP iSupport applications/instances have been specifically configured to provide specific capabilities and meet unique requirements. The continued maintenance of this software is critical to the Center's centralized processing and payment of travel expenses, small purchase approvals, facilities requisitions and managing personnel actions. In addition, iSupport is also the platform used for submitting, tracking and resolving service desk tickets from users of various programmatic computer applications developed in-house. Moving to another technology would introduce risks and incur significant cost increases that include (a) conducting a detailed alternative analysis of potential alternative solutions, (b) purchasing and supporting a different technology/platform, (c) construction and testing of new user interfaces and applications compatible with the new platform, and (d) configuring a new system to meet specific Program requirements and specifications and (e) migration of legacy information/data into the new environment/system.
