Description of Services:
As part of a study to determine the geologic context of mineral resources in the Darby Mountains of the Seward Peninsula, the USGS - Alaska Science Center is in need of Sr, Nd, Pb, and Hf isotope analysis from 22 samples with one sample run as a duplicate (23 analyses).
Whole-rock analysis of radiogenic isotope suites (esp. Hf) in high-zircon fraction rocks, such as the granites that make up a large portion of the project area, requires complete digestion in high-pressure vessels using high-pressure "bombs" (Pretorius et al., 2006). Purification and analysis of Sr, Nd, Pb, and Hf on single digests will follow techniques detailed by Weis et al. (2005; 2006; 2007).
In addition to a quote, as per FAR 52.212-1, offerers are to include a technical description of the items being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation. This may include product literature, or other documents, if necessary.
