The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 Office in Kansas City, KS requires third party independent accreditation of its laboratory system, conforming to the requirements and specifications of the 2017 version of the ISO 17025 international laboratory management system standard, and the "Manual for the Certification of Laboratories Analyzing Drinking Water", Fifth Edition, EPA/815 R 05 004, January 2005. The EPA is pursuing this accreditation from a full member of ILAC, who is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement.
