The City of Redlands Parks Division is accepting bids for IPEMA certified play mulch with proof of certificate. The engineered wood fiber (EWF) must be IPEMA certified for ASTM F1292 for impact attenuation with the use zone of the playground equipment, and ASTM F2073 Nine different locations (aerial overview attached of each location) will be refreshed with this mulch installation, for an estimated total of 1745 Cubic Yards of IPEMA Certified Playground Mulch. Provide and install, by way of blow-in method, approximately 1745 cubic yards of natural wood mulch. Bid prices are to include all transportation, fuel charges, labor and materials, etc. Deliver ONLY and no blow in may be considered depending upon price. Delivery would be to each park at a scheduled time by City Staff. Existing mulch to stay in place - new mulch will be blown in directly on top of existing mulch. Large items of trash, rocks, etc. in the existing mulch are to be removed and disposed of by winning bidder. Prior notice that new mulch is being installed shall be posted by awarded contractor at all playgrounds 48 hours prior to new mulch installation. This notice is to include the date of installation and a brief description of the EWF and IPEMA Certification. All precautions must be taken to provide any necessary traffic control, containment to the work area, and clean-up of any dust or debris to outside of application area (e.g. play equipment, sidewalks, etc.). Play equipment and surrounding area should be blown clean after placement of mulch.
