This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluations and Solicitation for commercial items-as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) announcement constitutes the only solicitation that will be issued. The Government contemplates a Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order resulting from this solicitation.


The Food and Drug Administration's Office of Regulatory Affairs has a requirement for the purchase of, a brand name or equal Applied Biosystems Ion Torrent Genome Sequencer.

This equipment is needed to support the analytical demands requiring complete genome sequencing. The equipment is critical in order to accommodate high through put analyses needed in the event of food pathogen contamination outbreaks, current assignment requirements, and to provide a reliable back up for aging equipment.

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516. Its associated Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees.
