INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to the National Academy of Sciences, 500 Fifth Street NW, Washington, DC 20001-2736. Using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Dollar Threshold of $150,000) a firm fixed price award will be made to purchase "IOM Roundtable Publications" in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. The sole source award will be made under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 @ (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 10, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies and Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A justification and approval is currently being processed for this requirement. This requirement is intended as a sole source procurement because the National Academy of Sciences is the sole proprietor of the IOM Roundtable Publications.

CMS REQUIREMENTS: The contract will be for the IOM Roundtable Publications.

NAICS CODES: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541690 (Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services) and the size standard is $6 million.
