Title: Lab Equipment, iPrep Purification Instrument

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate a sole source follow-on award with Invitrogen. The CDC Division of Sexually Transmitted Diseases require continuation of the iPrep Purification Instruction to perform DNA extraction and analysis on various lab samples. Purchasing other laboratory research systems would cost more time, money and the possibility of jeaporadizing current, on-going eqidemiological studies performed in the labs.

CDC intends to negotiate this requirement with HRET under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.
