The District is requesting Bid Submittals from firms that possess the required qualifications and resources necessary to successfully perform the activities as outlined in the invitation for bid (IFB). The primary objective of this project is to prevent the contamination of the aquifer, the uncontrolled flow of groundwater from wells, and to prevent inter-aquifer flow of groundwater through well bores. The objective of this work is to permanently abandon artesian wells as the wells are identified within the Notice to Proceed time frame. The District is soliciting the services of multiple qualified vendors to permanently abandon artesian wells within the District’s 18 county boundary (refer to exhibit 1). Contractor must perform Work in accordance with Chapter 40C-3, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C) and Chapter 373, Florida Statutes (F.S.). The intent of this solicitation is to obtain services from qualified firms who can support the District’s Abandoned Artesian Well Plugging Cooperative Cost Sharing Program. Although the awarded contract(s) will cover the District’s 18 county boundary, it is anticipated that the majority of the Work will be performed in the central and southern areas of the District.
