The New York State School for the Deaf (NYSSD) is requesting an amendment to contract SED01-C013931-3300200 with CSI Northeast, Inc. dba Interpretek to add money to the contract to cover unpaid invoices and allow continued spending under the contract throughout the remainder of the contract term. CSI Northeast, Inc. dba Interpretek was awarded contract SED01-C013931-3300200 from IFB 19-004, to provide American Sign Language Interpreting Services at the New York State School for the Deaf. NYSSD requires sign language interpreting services to communicate with staff and students on a day-to-day basis. There are a number of staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, and other school events that require sign language interpretation. The original contract value was based on usage from the previous 3 years. Over the course of the contract term there has been a shift in interpreter demand. NYSSD is now consistently using virtual and in-person interpreters, far beyond what had previously been used in the past, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NYSSD anticipates an additional 800 hours of Regular Interpreting Services and an additional 43.33 hours of Emergency Interpreting Services, resulting in additional funding needed during the final period of the contract to cover contractual services for the remainder of the contract term.
