The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to make a sole source award to The University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (Internet2) for its continued need to access to the Internet2 Research Network provided and to procure 48 ports of dedicated HD H.323, SIP, and TIP on the Commercial Internet and Internet2 in a single video call to provide increased capacity for virtual meetings.

The Internet2 Commons offers multipoint bridging services at resolutions ranging from standard definition up to 1080p HD and accommodating interoperable video communication protocols including H.322, SIP, and TIP (Telepresence). These services are operated on a series of Multiport Control Units (MCUs). These two (2) 24-port HD (H.323/SIP) offer NSF unlimited use of 48 dedicated ports to continue to expand Video Conferencing cloud services for panels and staff use.

Market research indicated that there are similar products from other companies available, however, those products are lacking the strong interoperability with NSF's current infrastructure and do not meet NSF's needs.

The base period of performance will be date of award through one year.

The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1). This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
