The National Science Foundation intends to procure from the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (dba Internet2) unlimited user ad-hoc bridging rooms (p/n telepresence H.323/SIP/TIP). The support required by NSF must include industry standard video conferencing bridging devices that use the H.323 standard, the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and TIP (Telepresence Interoperability Protocol). Finally, NSF needs this service in place by September 30, 2011 in order to support Standard Definition and 1080p HD multivendor interoperability. Internet2 is the only provider offering the diverse and broad bridge service that meets NSF interoperability needs. Firms are invited to submit capability statements that demonstrate their ability to provide this service to the NSF Contracting Officer identified in this announcement no later than September 15, 2011. Responses to this announcement will be used to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This action is valued at the simplified acquisition threshold level.
