The Centers for Disease Control and Chronic Viral Diseases branch (CVDB) Division of High Consequence Pathogens and Pathology (DHCPP) National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Atlanta, GA. CVDB has on-going project titled “baited Single Molecule Sequencing of HPV genotyping test (baited HPV-SMS genotyping test)” to explore the feasibility of determining HPV genotypes using target enrichment and next generation sequencing technologies (NGS) for all known HPV types. This follow-on project needs scientific personnel in which only Georgia Tech Research Corporation can provide with expertise in both the laboratory for generating the massive sequence data and for its analyses using the state of the knowledge and expertise in computational science and bioinformatics fields. Georgia Tech Research Corporation has unique expertise in genome analysis and genome annotation. It has also developed the proprietary software tools used in pioneering genome projects. Due to the proprietary software and knowledge and experience from previously worked projects, only Georgia Tech Research Corporation has the capabilities to complete this follow-on project.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
