The work will consist of performing the remaining Engineering, Design, and Support services necessary to complete the development and approval of construction plans and specifications for the
Quantico Middle/High School, Quantico, Virginia in strict compliance with the requirements included in the approved DD Form 1391 for the project and the 15% design already completed by Ewing Cole. This action is to complete the required design to create construction level plans and specifications to allow award of a construction contract. Ewing Cole will not perform work for any other project or program under this specific contract action.
The plans and specifications shall be prepared in accordance with the Department of Defense Education Association (DoDEA) 21st Century Educational Concepts, DoDEA Facility Education Specifications, local school district program requirements, the Quantico Marine Corps Base design guide, the USACE design guide, and integration of the geographic conditions and site constraints. The design shall also include a comprehensive interior design package. The effort will include design review conferences at 35%, 65%, final, and design complete stages, as well as presentations to the DoDEA Design Center and DoDEA Leadership at specified design intervals. An option for construction phase services in support of Quantico Middle/High School is included in this contract. The construction phase services will enable the Designer of Record (DOR) to provide critical support throughout the construction process including, but not limited to, responding to request for information/support by the Resident Office overseeing construction, reviewing shop drawings, and performing site visits. Participation in the construction phase services will also enable the DOR to identify and capture lessons learned to be incorporated back into the programming and standard design specifications being developed by the DoDEA Design Center staff.
THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the above extensive requirements specified above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
