THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to solicit a quote and enter into a contract with Ted Pella Inc., herein referred to as Contractor, for a BioWave Pro Laboratory Microwave System and Paraffin Tissue Processing Application Kit. The anticipated award date is on or about August 21, 2012. Market Research and a Sources Sought posting on FBO (AG-6125-SS-12-0005) yields there is only one source available for this item.

The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2).

This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responsible sources received within four days of this posting.
