The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed price (FFP) award to incorporate a Navy developed AN/APN-194 RT-1015A mounting tray which will enable the RT-1015A to operate with reduced erratic behavior in an F/A-18E/F and EA-18G environment. This requirement is to integrate the AN/APN-194 RT-1015A and mounting tray assembly into the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G and it will be implemented through an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP). This requirement consists of Production and Retrofit recurring engineering, including the procurement and installation of the modified tray into production F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft, recurring retrofit kits and installations, and Support Equipment or Trainers/Training, if impacted. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G weapon systems, McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is the only known source that can meet the Government’s need to integrate this hardware into the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G. MDC has the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data required to respond to this requirement without substantial duplication of costs and undue delays to the program. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement in response to this notice. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. No phone calls will be accepted. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed effort based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. For small business or subcontracting opportunities, contact MDC directly at 314-233-0303. Any questions regarding this synopsis should be sent via e-mail to [email protected] by close of business 09 May 2008. See Number Note 22.
