Lab background and use: This research aims to identify and characterize ion channels on various membranes in malaria parasite-infected erythrocytes and in their mosquito vectors. These ion channels are important targets for antimalarial drug development. As such highly purified and characterized recombinant proteins are needed for these structural studies and these proteins need to be produced in bacterial cells that under controlled conditions in an incubator.
This procurement of the stacked incubator shaker with three chambers with temperatures independently controlled will allow the production of recombinant proteins from microbiology bacteria cells expressing proteins.
List of items:
QTY 1-Multitron Standard triple stacked incubator, with independent temperature chambers that holds 5 Liter Erlenmeyer flasks (meets size dimensions: 43"W x 35"D x 70"H)
Place of Performance is Bethesda, MD 20892.
