The University’s Stamford Campus is located at 1 University Place, Stamford, CT in a former Department Store which was remodeled in 1999 under the UConn 2000 program. The building is a three story structure located in an urban environment, bounded on the east, west and south sides by Franklin Street, Washington Boulevard and Broad Street respectively and on the north side by a residential condominium complex. In accordance with an executive order issued by former governor Jodi M. Rell, the construction documents for this project were reviewed for code compliance by the University Office of Fire Marshal and Building Inspector (OFMBI). As a result of the review, the OFMBI issued a series of building and fire code discrepancies. Sixteen of these Notice of Discrepancies (NOD) are to be corrected under this project. There is also programmatic renovations as part of this scope.
