The United States Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, intends to award a sole source contract to Illumina, Inc. located in San Diego, California for catalog number: WG-401-1004, Infinium iSelectHD  Custom Beadchips.  This requirement is for infinium iSelectHD Custom Beadchips, which shall contain between 3,072 and 90,000 attempted Beadtypes corresponding to pre-selected loci with 24 samples per Beadchip, quantity of 6 each and Illumina, Inc. reagents are required for processing.  The kits purchased must be compatible with existing laboratory equipment used for DNA sequencing, which is currently based on Illumina, Inc. technology.   No other kits are compatible with this equipement.  Illumina, Inc. is the only distributor of this product.  The anticipated award date is April 22, 2011.
