U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland  intends to award a sole source contract to Illumina, Inc. located in San Diego, California,  for catalog number: WG-401-1004, Infinium iSelect HD Custom Beadchip.   This requirement is for infinium iSelect Custom Beadchips, between 3,072 and 90,000 attempted Beadtypes corresponding to pre-selected loci with 24 samples per Beadchip, quantity of 48 beadchips,  and Illumina, Inc. reagents.  The kits purchased  must be compatible with existing laboratory equipment used for DNA sequencing, which is currently based on Illumina, Inc. technology.  No other kits are compatible with this equipment.  Illumina, Inc. is the only distributor of this product.  The anticipated award date is June 30, 2011.
