The Air Force A-10 Division (AFMC AFLCMC/WWA) is conducting market research on the potential future acquisition of approximately 283 each licenses for Improved Data Modem-Mini (IDM) version 6 firmware.  These licenses will be used to complete a fleet-wide upgrade of the A-10 IDMs from version 5 to version 6. IDM version 6 has been developed by Symetrics to address additional capabilities required of the IDM.  Among these capabilities are meeting the MIL-STD 188 220D Change Notice 1 (JSF), for faster segmentation. The version 6 firmware, coupled with the A-10-specific Suite 8 Operational Flight Program (OFP) release, will aid the A-10 in having a fully compliant Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) Block I coordinated implementation.

The Government has already acquired the Improved Data Modem-Mini (part number 349-6-000-01) from Symetrics/Aeronix and is only seeking additional licenses to install previously acquired firmware in the remaining fleet.

A Firm Fixed Price contract is being contemplated.  This is not a solicitation or a formal announcement of a requirement.  This notice neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Air Force to a particular acquisition approach.  No contract will be awarded from this announcement and requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.  No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought.  Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary.  Firms responding to this sources sought notice are also requested to provide the Air Force with capability statements, which at a minimum need to include:

- Point of Contact Name and Number
- Business Status (8(a), Small, HUBZone, Woman-owned, etc.)
- Ability to provide the Firmware licenses
