The Pathology Laboratories have been using the Roche Benchmark XT automated Slide Preparation System since February 2008, and the reagents and supplies purchased are the only compatible products for this system. It is used to perform Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and In Situ Hybridization (ISH) staining primarily for cancer screening. The system seamlessly integrates and automates staining, specimen tracking, and imaging platforms to provide real-time specimen monitoring and tracking. The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
