THE TECHNOLOGY: See US Patent 8,715,392. This is a CO2 selective liquid immobilized on a thin metal film support to afford a CO2 selective membrane. The metal film is mesoporous and the liquid is chosen for the permeance and selectivity desired. Excellent CO2/N2 separation of simulated flue gas has been observed. Ionic liquids, polymeric amines, or hydroxide and carbonate containing solutions may be used as the immobilized liquid.
