The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Illumina, Inc., 5200 Illumina Way, San Diego, CA 92122, for a laboratory equipment for MiSeq System Catlog# SY-410-1003, MiSeq Reagent Kit v2 Catlog# MS-102-2003, Nextera XT Index Kit Catalog# FC-131-1001 and Nextera XT DNA Sample Preparation Kit Catalog# FC-131-1024. The capability requirement that makes it a sole source is this laboratory equipment is provided only from this source which is the only next generation sequencer that integrates amplification, sequencing , and data analysts ina single instrument with a footprint of less than two feet square. Illumina Inc is the only source to provide this laboratory equipment. This is a firm fixed price purchase order for the above items for laboratory equipment for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
