The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA 92121, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for the following BeadChip Reagents: 1) (6 Each) WG-314-1002-HumanMethylation450 DNA Analysis BeadChip Kit (96 samples. The Human Methylation450 BeadChip arrays are used to perform experiments that measure methylation changes in the human genome. The BeadChips have the highest density of methylation probes on the market. The kits are specifically designed to allow for maixamal hybridization, washing, and staining efficiency to perform microarray experiments with Illumina arrays. They are the only arrays and reagents that can be used in the Illumina BeadArray System consisting of hybridization oven, fluidics, and laser scanner. These arrays are proprietary to Illumina and can only be purchased from Illumina. Ordering from another source would compromise experiments and compromise the integrity of data. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Illumina, Inc.
