The Town of Weston, Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids until 10:00 AM on August 6, 2020 at a locked box outside the entry doors of Weston Town Hall or by courier delivery to P.O. Box 378, 11 Town House Road, Weston, MA, 02493 for Tomb Restoration at Central Cemetery.Bids will be opened and read aloud on August 6, 2020 at 12:00 PM on a public online video conference call accessible by computer, smartphone, or with audio-only using a dial-in phone number. Project Description: The work under this proposed contract involves reconstructing shifted masonry tomb walls, coping stones and installation of tie-back anchors. Repairing and painting tomb doors, Reinstalling stone foundation, and protecting tomb contents. Loaming and seeding. Bidders may obtain bid documents online at www.weston.org/bids starting July 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Site visits will be made available upon request. Every Bid shall be accompanied by cash; a bid bond; or a certified check; or a treasurer's check; or a cashier's check; issued by a responsible bank or trust company, made payable to the Town of Weston, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a labor and materials payment bond and performance bond issued by a company authorized to do business in Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, in the amount of fifty percent contract price (50%) All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including G.L. c.30 s.39M, as amended. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 and 27D inclusive. Selection of the contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
