Estimated 46,300 lbs. of Fired brass casings [7.62, 5.56, 9mm].  Approximately 78, 55 gal. sealed metal drums of fired brass casings [Expended Small Arms Cartridges (ESACC)] that have been inspected and declared safe by Certified DoD Ammunition handlers.  According to DoD, Air Force regulations and Beale AFB’s Operating Instruction (OI) 32-522 Buyer Deformed Expended Small Arms Cartridge Cases (ESACC) fired brass casings must be deformed on site as a condition of sale and before the material can be released from Air Force custody.
