This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS announcement ONLY for information/market research planning purposes. NO PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED OR ACCEPTED WITH THIS SYNOPSIS. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS.
This is a notification that the 377 MSG/PZIB Contracting Office and the Air Force Research Lab are conducting a Commodities acquisition for an Ice Harvester for Kirtland Air Force Base. The contractor would need to provide a Harvester that meets the following specifications:

•-       Three (3) industrial ice harvester systems, providing up to 330 tons of ice production per 24 hour period and over 3.5M BTU's per hour in order to provide cooling to over $250M of large telescopes and other equipment.

•-       Evaporator Specification:

*Evaporator equipment must be located above floor surface, ice needs to cascade over ice pit

•o    Evaporator Unit Opening dimensions: 5'11" x  4' x 14'11"

•o    Evaporator Height Limitation: 15' including associated piping

•o    Evaporator Weight Limitation: 13,000 lbs. in operational configuration

•o    Refrigerant Type: R-134a

•o    Operating modes: Ice making and water chilling

•o    Ice Making Capacity (per 24 hour period):  150 T (tons)

•o    Chilling Capacity (per 24 hour period): 240 T

•o    Return water temp: 33°F

•o    Gas Temp into Condenser: 95°F

•o    SST: 30°F

•-       Evaporative Condenser Outdoor Condition Specification:

•o    Summer: 93°F Dry-Bulb (DB)/60°F Wet-Bulb (WB)

•o    High WB: 70°F WB/82°F DB

•o    Winter: 12°F (ASHRAE 1% conditions)

•-       Albuquerque NM at 5,315 ft. above sea level (ASL) is the basis of site design conditions

 It is anticipated this will be a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract.

This is not a Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Any costs incurred as a result of this announcement shall be borne by the offeror and will not be charged to the Government for reimbursement.
