GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Space Systems Command (SSC), Assured Access to Space (AATS), Small Launch and Targets Division (SSC/AAMX) manages the Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP). RSLP is requesting industry responses in the form of a “Statement of Capabilities” (SOC) for the wash out, or other demilitarization method, of Minuteman II ballistic missile motors. The expected period of performance of the contract is five (5) years with a possible option to extend for an additional five (5) years (10 years total). The expected time to start operations is requested to be included in your submitted SOC. No Government non-recurring expenses (NRE) are expected in your responses.
Objective: The goal of this RFI is to collect detailed information on available solutions, methods, technologies, and vendor capabilities to perform demilitarization of Minuteman II Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) SR-19 and M55 motors to 5X certification. The contractor will need to demilitarize removed components in accordance with (IAW) DoDI 4140.01 and 4160.28 Defense Logistics Agency requirements.
The M55 Stage I motor is approximately 54K lbs., 25 ft. in length and the case consists of a D6AC Steel case. The SR-19 Stage II motor is approximately 15K lbs., 14 ft. in length and the case consists of 6AL-4V Titanium.
