IBM Ultrium Tape Drive THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. FAR PART 13, SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES, ARE UTILIZED IN THIS PROCUEREMENT. THIS ANNOUCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEIGN REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-34. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334112 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. This acquisition cannot be set aside for small business because there is no SBA waiver to the non-manufacture rule for NAICS code 334112. This requirement is being competed as an unrestricted full and open competition. Only quotes from responsible authorized IBM resellers’ business partners will be considered. Brand Name Justification: The NIST Office of the Chief Information officer Enterprise System Division’s (ESD) is seeking to expand the existing IBM Ultrium tape library model 3584 with IBM Ultrium-4 4GB tape drives to support user data backup and archival. Compatibilities with existing system are required to reduce system malfunction and maintain data integrity. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as Amended, does not apply to this acquisition because the items are located in an area only accessed infrequently by maintenance personnel. Refurbished equipment with one year Warranty is acceptable. Quantity 8; Unit: Each ADDENDUM TO PROVISION 52.212-1 - QUOTATION SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS (b) Submission of quotations. Submit signed and dated quotations to the office specified in this solicitation at or before the exact time specified in this solicitation. Quotations may be submitted on the SF 1449, letterhead stationery, or as otherwise specified in the solicitation. As a minimum, quotations must include— (1) The solicitation number; (2) The name, address, and telephone number of the offeror; (3) Terms of any expressed warranty; (4) Price and discounts terms; (5) Evidence that the offeror is authorized by IBM to sell the required line item; and (6) If the quotation is not submitted on the SF 1449, include a statement specifying the extent of agreement with all terms, conditions, and provisions included in the solicitation. Quotations that fail to furnish required representations or information, or reject the terms and conditions of the solicitation may be excluded from consideration. (c)Period of acceptance of Offers. The offeror agrees to hold the price in its offer firm for 30 calendar days from the dates specified for receipt of offers, unless another time period is specified in an addendum to the solicitation All quotes shall be received not later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on July 31, 2009 at [email protected]. EVALUATION FACTORS FOR AWARD *** The government intends to award a purchase order to the offeror whose technically acceptable quotation represents the lowest prices.
