Multiple Request for Quotes (RFQs) may be issued for hydrographic survey within the Mississippi River navigation channel, and may occur anywhere within the Rock Island District between river miles 613 and 301. Surveys would include channel condition surveys, pre-dredge surveys, and post dredge surveys. Survey equipment utilized could include any/all of single beam, multi-beam, or multi transducer echosounders. Typical surveys would require cross-section passes covering the navigation channel with spacing between sections ranging from 25 feet to 200 feet depending on the type of survey required. Individual surveys could cover area from 0.1 to 2.0 river miles in length. Deliverable product would be edited xyz data showing depth of water corrected to flat pool elevation.
The purpose of the project is to identify shoaling within the navigation channel of the Mississippi River at one or more locations within the Rock Island District, and/or to establish pre-dredging quantities of material to be dredged, as well as volume removed by dredging.
All work will be via survey vessel operating within the river, subject to water fluctuations. All work will require river access.
Work will occur in the active navigation channel and survey activities may be interrupted by commercial traffic. Survey vessels will be required to move off station to let traffic pass.
