This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement for a vendor to provide technical analysis of hydrocarbon samples in the analytical chemistry laboratory for the Marine Chemistry Unit of the RECA (Recruitment Energetics & Chemical Analysis) Program, primarily investigating polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon contaminants in the marine environment. Laboratory work will include analysis and support of PAH component quantification in various marine samples within the laboratory. These tasks may also require computer work involving spreadsheets and databases for data entry, analysis, and quality control. The contractor may participate in other research support activities as necessary, as described in the Specific Tasks.
