The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Eastern Region Acquisition Division-Kansas City (ERAD-KC) is awarding a purchase order to AAF-McQuay, Inc. for continuation of services to provide comprehensive maintenance program on the McQuay WMC250D 250 ton Central Plant Centrifugal Chiller at the Mississippi Laboratories (MS Lab) located in Pascagoula, MS. The liquid HVAC comprehensive chiller maintenance program provides ongoing routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repair of the covered equipment. The magnetic frictionless compressors are state of the art and uses advanced technology with multiple on-board computers to operate and control the two levitated-rotor compressors. This compressor technology is proprietary and exclusive to the manufacturer, McQuay. The MS Lab is a 55,000 square footage research laboratory that relies exclusively on the McQuay chiller to provide chilled water for air conditioning the entire lab. The singular chiller is mission-critical; there is no back-up machine or alternate method of cooling the building; if the machine goes down, the entire building shuts down. The work taking place at the Lab is high profile fisheries research and analysis, with DeepWater Horizon related analysis work taking place daily. The mission of the Southeast Fisheries Science Center and the National Seafood Inspection Laboratory (tenants) at the Main Lab building must not be interrupted at this critical time. McQuay Factory Service technicians have all available OEM factory technical support and services (including OEM proprietary diagnostics software) at their disposal in keeping the chiller performing correctly, and should a malfunction occur, be able to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot the machine and return it to service in minimal time. There will be a base period with two option periods.
