Scope of Work: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work.) This solicitation is non-exclusive and a lump-sum contract. The Contractor shall furnish to Miami-Dade County PROS copies of Certificate(s)/Policy of insurance as identified in 00800 Supplemental General Conditions, Article 1.04. CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for Hurricane Irma repairs and/or replacement work to be completed. CONTRACTOR shall perform work at various locations though out Zoo Miami. CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials and documentation including photographs required to comply with the intent of the WORK described in the contract documents including but not limited to: 1.The contractor shall follow zoo staff instructions while working in the park and abide by the attached contractor parameters document. All the work is located in or near occupied animal holding. Coordination is critical to have work available in these areas. Most areas will require 24 hrs. notice to gain access and will depend on animal shifting. The contractor shall perform the described work at the following Locations: A.)Asian River Life- a. Remove and dispose of 2 large tree planters (10 Ft in height by 8 Ft in diameter) from the roofs of the buildings, without damaging the roof decks. Additional work in Alternate 1. b. Demo and remove all the storm damaged holding pens (12Ft in height and 12ft long). Pressure clean and repaint the building exterior attached to damaged holding pens. Apply 1 coat of 100% acrylic latex primer, 2 top coats of 100% acrylic latex by brush and/or roller. Paint colors selected by owner. Re-build the holding pens with Galvanized Chain Link 1” Opening Mesh, 9 Gauge, built to 8’ Commercial Dade County Fencing Requirements. (Attachment D) B.)Nourish 305- Contractor shall repair/replace the Fire Department Connection (6 IN Siamese Universal Standpipe) for the restaurant. It was damaged by a falling tree. It must be restored to fully operational, pre-storm conditions. C.)Aviary Plaza- Contractor shall demo and replace the 4’ high eucalyptus picket fence and gates. Match the existing materials and return the fence line to pre-storm conditions. Includes approx. 120 LF of fence with 2-6’x4 Gates, and 2-3’x4’ Gates. All fasteners and hardware to be stainless or hot-dipped galvanized. D.)Hospital- Contractor shall repaint the ceiling inside the treatment room. Approx. 234 Sf. Ft of painted Concrete Ceiling. Roof leaked during the storm caused bubbling and paint peeling. Contractor shall scrape, sand, and prepare the ceiling and cover with 2 coats of epoxy paint by hand brush and roller. E.)Children’s Zoo- Contractor shall prepare and paint the entry archway damaged by H. Irma Approx. 1,000 Sq. Ft of Cement Entrance, 50 Ft long x 20 Ft wide. Entire surface to be pressure cleaned, primed with one coat of 100% acrylic primer, and given 2 topcoats of 100% acrylic latex by hand brush and roller. Contractor shall moisture test surface and ensure proper PH levels prior to installing the coatings. Colors to be selected by owner. Top of structure to be pressure cleaned, primed, and receive a 10-year rated Polyurea roof coating. F.)Chimp Exhibit- Contractor shall replace the exhibit climbing rope damaged by H. Irma. The rope consists of 120’ of 3” braided nylon and secured by (exterior rated-animal proof) fastening system approved by zoo staff. Rope end terminations are to be cauterized, or braided to prevent fraying of ends. G.)Spider Monkey- Contractor shall repair H. Irma storm damage to the wall structure and turn back (40 FT Length by 5 FT Height x 4 Ft Width). Include stucco repairs, crack repairs, roof sealing, pressure cleaning wall and prepared for paint, apply 1 coat of 100% acrylic primer, and 2 top coats of 100% acrylic latex installed by hand brush and roller. Colors to be selected by owner. Contractor shall moisture test surface and ensure proper PH levels prior to installing the coatings. Alternate 1 - Remove and dispose of 12 (10 Ft in height by 8 Ft in diameter) additional tree planters from the roofs of the buildings, without damaging the roof decks. Enter Price on Bid Form, Item No. A1. Alternate 2 - Repair any damage to the roof deck caused by the storm, pressure clean, prime and re-seal the roof deck with a 10-year warranty Polyurea roof coating. Enter Price on Bid Form, Item No. A2. ALTERNATES, if applicable, will be at the discretion of the Owner. MDC reserves the right to award with respect to the price proposal, based on the lowest Grand Total (Base Bid) or any combination of base bid and alternate(s). If the alternate(s) option is not exercised, it will not preempt the right of MDC to complete the work by the other means, and or negotiate that portion of the work not included for basis of award, at a future date with the CONTRACTOR. COMMENTS: In accordance with Miami-Dade County Implementing Order 3-9, Accounts Receivable Adjustments, if money is owed by the Contractor to the County, whether under this Contract or for any other purpose, the County reserves the right to retain such amount from payment due by County to the Contractor under this Contract. Such retained amount shall be applied to the amount owed by the Contractor to the County. The Contractor shall have no further claim to such retained amounts which shall be deemed full accord and satisfaction of the amount due by the County to the Contractor for the applicable payment due herein.
