The intent of this contract is to provide a safe and smooth surface for snowmobile use and use by other non-motorized winter recreation users (Nordic skiers, snowshoers, snow campers, sled dog racers, etc.). The groomed trail shall be flat, smooth, free of moguls and bumps, and clear of hazards. Snow set up time should be planned so the set up groomed trail is a compacted, durable, groomed surface.

The winter snowmobile season historically has consisted of approximately 20 weeks. Snow conditions the past few years have allowed grooming operations to begin as early as late November or not until late December. Grooming may not be possible all winter long due to lack of snow or other weather conditions. Grooming operations may end as early as mid-March or continue into late April.
